All about Awards – from publicising to entering

April, 2015

It’s important for businesses to shout about their achievements which is why Kent PR agency Maxim encourages clients to get involved in award schemes. Account Director Andy Rayfield explains our role.

We have recently completed work on one of our largest annual projects – PR support for the Institute of Directors Director of the Year Awards for the London and the South Region.

Every year since 2009, Maxim has covered the awards from launch, where the emphasis is on encouraging entries from across the south of England, through to local publicity for the shortlisted directors and, of course, announcing the good news for the winners.

This year, the finalists came from as far afield as Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire, West Sussex and London, as well as Kent.

The awards ceremony was held on April 22 at the IoD in Pall Mall, London.

Next year’s awards will be launched in the autumn. You don’t have to be a member of the IoD to be nominated, so if you believe you have what it takes to be regarded as one of the South’s leading business figures, look out for details of how to enter in October.

Entering awards

But Maxim doesn’t just write about award winners, we also help compile entries for clients.

From trade award programmes to local business awards, to regional schemes such as the KEiBAs in Kent, we have brought an outsider’s view to clients’ entries, whether that be working alongside them on their submission, or drawing it up from scratch.

It’s just one of the many services we provide over and above pure PR. Find out more here.
