How can small businesses build a strong reputation in the media?

March, 2016

Andrew Metcalf, director of Kent PR and public affairs agency Maxim, will be sharing some of his knowledge on building a reputation in the media next week.

During the West Kent B2B conference and exhibition, Andrew will be taking part in a panel session entitled ‘How small businesses can build a strong reputation in the media’ which begins at 11.45am. He will sit alongside Patrick Barrow of Reputation Communications and experienced journalist Trevor Sturgess.

Each of the three panel members will share five top tips with Andrew focusing on managing a business’s reputation in a digital world. The short presentations will be followed by a Q&A session, giving audience members the chance to quiz the panel.

Andrew commented: “I have almost 30 years’ experience handling positive and negative issues for clients of all sizes and while the media landscape has certainly changed, the principles of building a reputation remain. With a 24/7 news agenda, organisations now have to move a lot faster, particularly when dealing with negative stories.”

A board director for Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce, Andrew also represents Kent businesses on the boards of the South East Local Enterprise Partnership and the Kent & Medway Economic Partnership.

Taking place at The Hop Farm, Paddock Wood, the West Kent B2B features keynote speakers on finance, law, marketing, sales and start up businesses. Workshops will run throughout the day and more than 80 companies are exhibiting.
