And the winner is… Kent Design & Development Awards

November, 2014

Having been asked to join Kent County Council and DHA Planning as one of the major sponsors of the 2014 Kent Design & Development Awards, it’s great to report that they were a roaring success and showcased the many excellent construction projects taking place across the county.

Maxim’s involvement in the commercial property and development arena sees us regularly advising on many significant investment projects, guiding them through planning by engaging with the local community, meaning the awards offered a natural fit.

Having taken on the responsibility for the media relations and marketing support, Maxim set about developing a dedicated awards website. The team also delivered a coordinated programme of press releases, including: announcing the launch; the judges and a call for entries. Localised publicity about the 18 shortlisted finalists followed – and then the big announcement: the winners of the eight categories.

The big day arrived, the rehearsal done, the AV all checked, and it was time for Maxim’s Andrew Metcalf to MC the ceremony at County Hall. The excitement among the 150-strong audience was palpable. To some the idea of awards for Kent’s best local buildings may seem a little dry, but the professional pride and eagerness to win in the room was strong.

Winner of the ultimate title, Project of the Year, was Goat Lees Primary School in Ashford. Information about all the winning projects – and the teams who made each of them possible – can be found at www.kentdesigndevelopmentawards.co.uk.

Job done, and now a final congratulations to our fellow sponsors and the shortlisted finalists, and of course the winners. Maxim looks forward to being involved in 2016.
