Maxim’s Christmas gift (and the end of the Maxim calendar!)

December, 2023

A car full of gifts for children across Kent has been delivered to kmfm as part of the radio station’s Give a Gift appeal.

Having collected almost 14,000 toys, the team at kmfm has been delivering them to young people in hospitals, care facilities, and those in less fortunate situations across Kent.

Maxim director Rachel Knight explained: “For the first time in 21 years, we won’t be creating a calendar for 2024. Over the last two decades, thousands have been delivered to clients, suppliers and friends but with hybrid and home working increasing, we felt the money could be better spent.

“It was a difficult decision as the calendar has become a tradition and we know they will be missed. However, we really wanted to do something for charity and the Give a Gift appeal seemed like a good opportunity.

“If you usually receive a desktop calendar from us, please don't be offended when nothing drops through the door this year - just know the money we would have spent on it has gone to a very good cause.”

Some of the Maxim team donned their Christmas outfits and visited the kmfm studio to deliver the toys and Rachel gave a short interview on air.

She added: “We chose a wide selection from the gift lists which covered children of all ages, as well as toys for group settings. Although we were highly tempted to keep the dolls house, the Playmobil camper van and the k'nex kits, all the toys are now with children who deserve them.”

As well as donating to the toy appeal, Maxim is also giving away £250 in a Christmas competition. Enter at www.maxim-pr.co.uk/ChristmasComp.
