Thanet Business Forum

Forum gathers momentum

Brief

  • Bring together like-minded businesses to strengthen their engagement with key stakeholders and the local authority to ensure the voice of the business community is heard when driving the area’s economic development.

Results and highlights

  • In response to the brief Maxim established Thanet Business Forum.
  • Working closely with the management at Manston Airport, Maxim contacted key businesses in Thanet and successfully secured their active participation.
  • With regular six-weekly meetings, the forum has built stronger relations between the members, and with Thanet District Council and other stakeholders, including the local MPs.
  • The forum is now represented on the Thanet Regeneration Board following its negotiation by Maxim.
  • The forum has also been consulted with on the local Economic Development Strategy, prepared by Thanet DC, and added its voice to the government’s consultation on Assisted Area Status.
  • Through the attendance of representatives from Kent County Council, Locate in Kent, and the Chambers of Commerce, the forum is able to ensure its members, and the key issues, are considered.
  • Through Maxim, the members have also engaged directly with the local media.
