Thames Gateway Kent Partnership
Bridging the media gap
Brief
-
To position Thames Gateway Kent Partnership (TGKP) as the champion of the economic, social and environmental regeneration of north Kent on behalf of Kent County Council, Medway Council and the local authorities of Dartford, Gravesham and Swale.
Results and highlights
-
Adopting a watching brief, Maxim is the eyes and ears for the partnership, on hand to handle any media enquiries on issues relating to the Thames Gateway and the delivery of the ambitious plans for the area’s regeneration. Recent work has involved commenting on the possible route of the Third Lower Thames Crossing as part of the DfT’s consultation.
-
TGKP is an important conduit between the Kent partners and central government, and therefore often requires the coordination of partners to ensure clear and consistent messages are communicated to the press.
-
Maxim manages and coordinates all the partners for media launches of initiatives across the Thames Gateway that are designed to speed recovery from recession by improving skills, jobs, housing, transport and infrastructure. Work to date has seen the launch of the North Kent Multi-Area Agreement (MAA) signed by the TGKP partners, alongside the Secretary of State, Department for Communities and Local Government and partners, which focuses on tackling the underlying challenges of regenerating the area.
-
The signing of the MAA secured significant press interest, including the attendance of BBC South East Today and other local media, satisfying the promotional expectations of the partners.
