Results and highlights

• As a result of the close collaboration between Maxim, Jane Abbott, hospital director and Lawrence Christensen, head of communications for Benenden Healthcare Society, the hospital built a strong and positive profile in terms of its services and the quality of its medical staff. 

• Focusing on the role of Benenden surgeons in national surgical masterclasses reinforced the hospital’s reputation as a centre of excellence. 

• Maxim played an integral role in managing the media during the visit of the Countess of Wessex, MP Anne Widdecombe, and Maura Buchanan, president of the Royal College of Nursing. 

• The hospital’s success in major national nursing awards as the top healthcare employer in the UK for the third year running, according to the prestigious Healthcare 100 list published by the Health Service Journal and Nursing Times, was communicated to the media and secured ongoing broadcast and print media opportunities. 

• As a committed player within the local community many of the hospital’s staff regularly participate in fundraising and charitable activities, including Children in Need welcoming a BBC film crew and Pudsey Bear.
• The Maxim team also advised on the marketing of new services such as orthopaedics – joint replacements – and how best to reach the local market.
